Local Search Engine Optimization

Local search is the equivalent to the map in a local magazine that highlights the locations that are advertising on it. However, there is no cost to participate in local search marketing, giving us every reason to make sure that your hotel is taking advantage of the opportunities that exist to optimize your online local directories. While there are sites like Four11.com and Yellowpages.com, Yo!Dog Marketing specifically focuses on claiming and optimizing your Google Places, Yahoo! Local, and Bing Local listings.

In 2007, Google changed the way search results are displayed. Rather than showing the 10 websites with the most relevant content, they started showing blended search results trying to find the content most relevant to the searcher's intent. In doing so, they started showing information from book search, images, maps/local, video, news, products, and blogs. More specifically, when you started doing geographically based searches like, Nashville hotel, you started getting blended results pulled in from Google Maps, now called Google Places. This was a win-win for any early adopters of Google Maps, but was a major blow to SEO firms who never saw this coming. Their cllents got moved below the fold.

Now is the time to optimize your local search marketing. Let Yo!Dog help you.
